The Central Drakensberg Waste Centre

RULES

Only BAGGED HOUSEHOLD waste may be disposed into this waste holding bunker. MAX per household is 5 bags.
BAGGED BULK disposal exceeding 5 bags is to be loaded directly onto the Municipal collection truck only between 8am and 9am on Mondays and Fridays. It is essential that you be punctual, or you will miss this collection time. (Days and times may differ during holiday periods) Strictly no bulk loads are to be disposed of outside the times or days stipulated.
No unbagged waste is to be brought to the waste centre for disposal.
No disposal inside the bunker between 9am and 12 noon on Mondays and Fridays as this is when the bunker is cleaned out and sanitized.
Please do not leave any waste on the timber deck in front of the holding bunker. Slide the roof sheeting hatch open and dispose of your bagged refuse in the bunker. Close the roof hatch on completion.
No garden refuse or builders’ rubble is permitted in or around this waste disposal centre.

Please be considerate and adhere closely to the above rules so that we can all enjoy an environmentally clean and attractive valley.

Waste Management & Recycling

As a community let us strive to work towards a healthy natural environment. Through proactive waste and recycling practices.

Please review the rules for the Waste Management site in the Cathkin Park area (R600). This site is managed by the CDRA and funded by the local residents. Please ensure your fees are up to date for the year so we can continue to make improvements.

Recycling is possible in the area! So please take full advantage of the resources available to you.

Hillbillies Farm Shop has kindly provided a designated recycling area. Please utilise responsibly and review the recycling poster for details.

If you have never recycled before then now is the time to start! It is never too late to have a positive impact on your environment.
